Jaime Marum is a self taught potter from Arlington, Texas. He is the owner of Catalyst Creative Arts studio. Marum teaches pottery to students of all ages and makes his own pottery in his studio. The pottery studio provides an important resource to the community, offering a variety of art services as well as many free community events. Marum has been making and selling pottery for 7 years. Inspired by classic forms and shapes, Marum prefers to use buff and red clays to make his pottery. He also likes to alter, paddle, stamp and bend forms after throwing them. Marum’s signature effects often include fingerprints and interrupted glaze coverage. The Texas Clay Festival will be Marum’s first “big” exhibition and he is honored to participate.
