Raised in Nürnberg Germany, Brigitte graduated from the ceramics program at Berufsschule für Keramik Landshut alongside a three year apprenticeship at Topferei Ochsenreiter in Scheidegg, Germany. She went on to complete her fine arts degree at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nürnberg. With more than 41 years of experience in ceramics, Brigitte now works as a studio artist focusing on functional ceramics in San Antonio, Texas. Each piece is wheel thrown and intricately detailed utilizing embossing and stamping techniques. She then hand paints, inscribes each piece uniquely and fires to a cone 6. Brigitte is most recognized for her use of colorful patterns and whimsical detailing.
