Brigitte Richard brings over 41 years of ceramics experience to everything she makes. Raised in Nürnberg, Germany, she trained at Berufsschule für Keramik Landshut with a three-year apprenticeship at Töpferei Ochsenreiter in Scheidegg, and earned her fine arts degree from the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nürnberg, a foundation rooted in both traditional craft and fine art. Now working from her San Antonio studio, Brigitte creates wheel-thrown functional ceramics layered with embossing, stamping, hand painting, and unique inscriptions, fired to cone 6. She is best known for her vibrant color palettes and distinctive whimsical detailing — work that is as thoughtfully made as it is a joy to live with.
