I make pottery decorated with plants and flowers that are connected to important memories and places in my life. I create repeating patterns and textures to make series of decorative and functional pieces inspired by aspen trees, cornflowers, rosemary plants, love-in-a-mist flowers, and other plants of central Texas that I’ve spent my life around. I throw or coil build my pots. My decoration starts out as drawings of plants that I then make into sculptural clay versions or underglaze paintings repeated over and over again on the surface of the pot.
