I have been a professional potter and Texas resident for 43 years. Although I teach a workshop or two a year, I have retired to my studio to focus on my clay creations. My work has varied from functional production pottery to ceramic art, and on to sculpture. Currently most pieces include a little of all three. Staying with the theme of the Chinese Zodiac, this year is the year of the Dragon. It has been a fun subject, challenging my reputation as a “realist”. Working with mythical creatures is a creative brain tease. As always, the floral and fauna of where I live are inspirations for many pieces.
