Having come from Indiana, I have been a Texas resident for 42 years. I have run a wholesale business, gallery and taught classes and workshops. Although I teach a workshop or two a year, I have retired to my studio to focus on my clay creations. My work has varied from functional production pottery to ceramic art, and on to sculpture. Currently most pieces include a little of all three. This year’s focus has been on birds and Rabbits, it is the year of the rabbit! As I expanded my work over the years to include native flora and fauna, I occasionally research and create animals I just find interesting. What it means is a never-ending schooling on how to handle clay and the medium of sculpture. The combining of wheel thrown, and sculpted forms is especially challenging.
