I am a Texas clay artist with a New Mexico soul. My artistic origins began with paint on canvas and a fascination with architecture, namely churches. Inspired by Southwest and Texas mission churches and their architectural features, I moved to clay as an expressive art form. Clay gave me another surface to be creative with and form to design and construct.  Textures, patterns, symbols, and colors play an important role in the development of my clay art. Custom-designed stencils among other tools are used for surface treatments and decorative elements. Not content with one direction, my work ranges from whimsical hearts, “little” churches, vase forms,  custom churches and architectural icons. I work primarily with low-fire clay, colorful underglaze applications, and glazes.
