I am a Texas clay artist with a New Mexico soul. My artistic origins started with paint and canvas and a fascination with architecture, namely churches. Inspiration came from Southwest and Texas mission churches and their architectural origins. My beginnings as a clay artist developed with the notion that my painted images could transfer from a 2-D canvas into 3-D forms and structures. Clay gave me another surface to be creative with. Textures, patterns, symbols, and color have played an important role in the development of my clay art. Not content with one direction, my work ranges from whimsical hearts, “little” churches, vase forms, and custom commissions of churches & architectural icons.
