Chris has been working in clay since 2003. He received his BFA in Ceramics from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi in 2006 and his MFA in Ceramics from University of North Texas in 2011. Chris spent 13 years as a public school educator teaching art and sculpture before shifting his focus to community-based ceramics education. Today, he teaches alongside his family at their home studio, MeliaPottery, in Whitesboro, where they offer classes, workshops, and private lessons for students of all ages and experience levels. In addition to teaching, Chris continues to exhibit his work across Texas and shares his passion for functional pottery, surface design, and craftsmanship through demonstrations and community events.
