I am a Korean ceramic artist currently based in Austin, Texas. With a background in visual design, lacquer art, and ceramics, I create works that blend traditional Korean aesthetics with my life in the United States. Inspired by memories and nature, I explore the relationship between fragments and the whole—often through moon jars—using a combination of buncheong ware and lacquer techniques to build a unique, material-driven narrative. In my recent work, I use sharp tools to carve long, prominent lines and furrow-like textures into the clay surface at consistent intervals. This process adds a physical rhythm and depth to the surface, emphasizing both structure and memory in form.
