Ryan is a full time artist working in Austin TX. He has most recently been exploring a more painterly approach to the surface treatment of clay through the use of layered underglazes and glazes, often requiring 5-10 firings in order to achieve the desired results. While some of the recent work can sometimes be considered functional, other objects are created with a more formal intention in mind.
