Hi, it’s me Clara! I am a full time clay artist out at The Eye of the Dog Art Center in San Marcos. My work is influenced by my love for all animals, while sculpting each one I let the shape of the thrown closed form speak to me and decide what it becomes based off of memory- i do not look at photos while working; so each piece can seem slightly off and even interchangeable through the eyes of the beholder. I take time and precise attention to detail altering each individual piece, making them all one of a kind and unique. Most of my work is either wood or soda fired, where the atmosphere of the kiln decides the textures, flashing, and coloration of each piece.
