I want my work to be used in everyday life. I choose to make mostly mugs because it is the first vessel, the first tool, most people reach for in their day. My work is Cone 5-6 and largely wheel-thrown using a B-mix clay. I like to start with smooth surfaces and decorate using screen-printed and hand-drawn designs inspired by a childhood filled with whimsy, fairy tales, and nature. I received my BA in Ceramics from Earlham College in 2003 and work out of my home studio in Elgin with the help of my 2 dogs (and occasionally a few foster pups). All tableware and drinkware are dishwasher and microwave safe.
