Merrie Wright’s is a ceramic artist who lives and works in rural East Texas. Her work is comprised of ceramic sculpture, site-specific installation, functional pottery, and jewelry. Her work is inspired by the natural and constructed environment and investigates the idea of place and landscape, both real and imagined. She uses a variety of clays and firing temperatures to create work that explores the relationship between form and surface through pattern, color, and texture.
