David Hendley began making pottery in 1972 and earned his M.A. degree in ceramics 1976. He has been a practicing studio potter since then, except for a 5-year sabbatical in the late 1980s when he designed and built his own house. Since 1990, he has operated Old Farmhouse Pottery out of a 1936 farm house, located just 50 yards from his home in Maydelle, Texas.
